Senior Project Accountant
About the Role:
As Senior Project Accountant you will be a valuable contributor in a team on a strategic program. This role is to support on the Global Balance Sheet Program which aims to transform the balance sheet reconciliation process across all segments and regions of CBRE, with specific focuses on improving the quality, process, policy and risk management process.
What You’ll Do:
Detailed discovery on balance sheet reconciliations by account
Work with team in meeting project timelines and milestones, including identification/escalation of risks and issues
Input into design of BS rec templates, policy guidance, account groupings, and quality assessment process
First pass at documentation including process narratives and risk assessment memo (including controls)
Partner with technology team to support design and implementation of system enhancements
Detailed quality review of balance sheet reconciliations as part of account sign-off process
Delivery of training for various groups, and preparation of training material content including practical examples
Hypercare support for local teams after go-live
What You’ll Need:
Qualified, experienced accountant.
Experience of working in RTR in a large multi-national company.
Audit experience required. Big 4 experience preferred.
US GAAP and SOX experience preferred.
Experience with balance sheet reconciliation reviews required.
Experience with using balance sheet reconciliation tool preferred.
Experience in implementing and working on process improvements.
Accurate and exceptional attention to detail. Methodical in approach.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise with a range of stakeholders across all levels of seniority, and accurately explain and report activity
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and effectively manage and prioritise critical deadlines.
Ability to interpret accounting policies and standards and effectively communicate this to key stakeholders.
Experience in ensuring compliance with accounting policies.
Ability to analyse large financial datasets and work with ambiguity
Able to make sound decisions when needed and take responsibility for outcomes.
Proactive and able to work autonomously and pitch in with other teams when required.
Ability to provide timely and accurate financial information.
Self-motivated with strong work ethic.
